Head Cold

It looks like the end- and start-of-year family visitation schedule, not to mention the socializing I've been doing since then on top of work, finally took its toll. It probably did not help that Mark and the spawnlet have been infected since the end of last year and it was only a matter of time before I caught it from them.

I originally had a dinner appointment today but begged off when the symptoms started asserting themselves. Even aside from feeling under the weather and not being up to a trip across the city in the cold, it would have been rude to risk passing on my virus to the people I was supposed to meet. I'm glad I had a valid excuse to cancel, tbh.

I feel much better after resting up, irrigating my nose with saline, and writing a little one-shot fic which I believe is standard prescription for cases of mild illness. Here's to hoping I feel even better in the morning.

Ooh, congrats. Legitimate excuses to get out of dinner appointments are the nectar of the gods.

And now I'm sick with a head-cold. I probably got it from this germy blog. :P Sadly, I have no dinner appointments to get out of, and I have meetings tomorrow I should really attend in person.

Somehow I missed this. Hopefully you're feeling better by now, but still, glad you took care of yourself and canceled that party! SELF-CARE LIKE AN ADULT!

I'm feeling mostly better, though I still have traces of infection and grogginess. Not going to the appointment probably helped a lot, too, to say nothing of avoiding giving other people what I had.
