Ask me questions!

This is the post where you can ask me questions and send me comments that are not about any particular post. Comments are screened, and anonymous comments are allowed.(1) If you are logged in my default response will be a reply comment, but if you're on anon and left no contact information I will have no way to get back to you except publicly.(2) (You can leave anonymous comments without logging out, just click on the "More Options" button and you'll see the option to comment anonymously.)
Public posting: If I think the question is one worth addressing in public (because it's fun fandom stuff, to head off repeat questions and so on), I will ask if you're okay with my making a post about your question, whether I may directly quote you, and if necessary coordinate with you on the level of details to reveal. If you want a question to be quoted and public, mark it as (Public) and we can cut down on that process. On the flip side, marking a question (Private) will prevent any uncertainty as well since I won't need to ask whether I can make a post.(3) If you're not sure/don't care at the time you're asking, don't mark it either way and we can work it out on a case-by-case basis.(4)
Notes
1. This is the main point of difference from the messaging system, which obviously doesn't have anon. Messaging might also feel a little personal to you even if you are a registered user. My buddy
lb_lee has also remarked that the message system has an incredibly high drop rate; if you sent a message and I never got back to you it's because I never saw it. This may well be the more reliable means of communication until DW fixes the problem.
2. At least I don't think anon users can see screened replies? Let me know if you have better information on this. Also, the comment section will warn you again, but anonymous comments are IP logged. If you want to hide your IP address I recommend the use of a VPN. The desktop version of the Opera browser comes with a free one preinstalled--nothing heavy duty obviously, but it should be enough to write a text comment on. You need to enable VPN first in Settings > Advanced. A little blue VPN icon next to your location bar will let you know it is enabled, and it would help to test it on a site like WhatIsMyIpAddress first.
3. Your asking privately about something doesn't bar me from posting about the subject matter itself, obviously, if the subject matter isn't about you and I don't reveal any details about you including the fact that you asked me a question on the subject. This goes without saying but in extreme cases such as manipulation, fraud, and threats to safety I may also break confidentiality altogether.
4. Yes, I am this much of a Tumblr refugee. This won't end badly at all! What could possibly go wrong?
