All work and no pay leaves me a poor girl

April was a busy week, but since most of it was for projects that will pay off later I'm now not only broke but tired as well. XD At least I'm looking forward to some paydays starting in May, and I appreciate that my contacts are giving me work. We're finally getting out of the lean months!
I didn't get the corporate lawyer job I applied for, thank God. I knew even while making the application that I'm a bad fit, and I'd rather concentrate on the academic projects I've been given anyway. I guess I'm proudly joining the ranks of unemployable academics.
I did get the publishing contract for the roleplaying game, yay! It's going to be tons of fun to translate and publish, if I work at it little by little between my more immediately-paying work. Time management: Must haz it.
Currently jonesing for the following things:
- A wireless trackball ever since my mouse died on me. I'm going to be working a lot more if all my projects come through and I want a comfortable input device.
- A keyboard tray to install under my desk--the bed tray I rigged up is working ok, but I want more space and flexibility.
- A plugin for the text editor I use, Atom, to make it emulate some of Scrivener's core functions like the ability to break a document into multiple pieces and see them in various views, drag them around to change their order etc.
The first and second can be bought but I guess I'll have to do the third myself, assuming it can even be done. *le sigh*
