Oh yeah, it was actually traditional Korean superstition that taking in a foundling brings luck to a family, and rejecting a foundling brings bad luck. It was no doubt superstition with a lot of social utility behind it. The abandonment and mistreatment of children is a strong reason that I'm pro abortion rights, too, and pro-reproductive rights in general.
