Yeah, I half joke that this project is an excuse for me to do research. It's only half a joke because a big reason I'm writing the novel is my fascination with this woman who lived so long ago, and about whom there are so few records, that nonfiction can't go very far in telling her story. (What little is available about her is practically encyclopedic, though, compared to other prominent women in ancient Korea. She even gets a name.)
