So I'm guessing you're not one of those artists who are obsessed with fashion and designs. I could kind of tell from your other work. XD I'm not much of a clothes hound myself, and I try to console myself that it would be distracting to overdescribe clothing anyway. Mostly I plan to have characters notice the differences that denote status, grouping etc., as humans will. Status-denoting feathers are definitely the kind of thing people would recognize and respond to.
