I KNOW RIGHT. Just once, I'd like to do market research for this book and not come across tons of rapeyness. In fact I'm happy to report that major television and stage shows featuring Soseono don't have rape-as-entertainment at all, likely because of the limits of expression on screen and stage. I never thought I'd be so thankful for television censors.

I think it's definitely a thing in Korean literature, partly as Truth in Television. It's when it's used gratuitously and as entertainment that I get actively creeped out.
